State Senator Hollingsworth Offers Condolences, Praise
To the Community:
My thoughts and prayers are with you, the people of Julian and surrounding
communities as you begin to rebuild your homes and your businesses on the road to restoring the normal routines of daily life.
All across Southern California and
particularly here in San Diego County, we witnessed an unprecedented level of loss and destruction from this year’s wildfires. Few could have imagined the scale of
devastation we experienced these past two weeks, and yet in the midst of this disaster we also witnessed so very many acts of
bravery, selflessness, and kindness.
The courageous efforts of the people of Julian who stood together and risked their lives to save their town and the lives and property of each other, demonstrate the can-do spirit that built this great nation. From the ashes of the fires have come
stories of bravery and heroism. In the
coming days I know that many more such stories will continue to be told.
There is no doubt that this is a
com-munity of friends and neighbors. It
is a community filled with hard working,
dedicated people ready to pick themselves up and rebuild what has been lost. The process has already begun. I know that in the coming months the sounds of dedicated citizens rebuilding their homes and
livelihoods will echo through the hills
and canyons of our beautiful mountain
community.
I am proud to call so many of you friends, and look forward to a day very soon when we will hammer the final nail and declare the job done. No doubt there will be struggles and problems, brick walls and red tape along the way. If I can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to pick up the phone and give me a call.
Sincerely,
Dennis Hollingsworth
