Members of the Helix Water District Board of Directors met with representatives of the Julian Cuyamaca Fire Protection District Dec. 6 at the Cuyamaca Restaurant and Store.

Helix Board President Harold Ball presented the fire district with a check for $10,000 to replace equipment and supplies used during the recent Cedar Fire.

Despite the loss of an 1890 Dam Keeper home belonging to Helix, the Julian Cuyamaca District worked to protect other important Helix Water District structures during the cataclysmic fire of late October and early November.

The Helix board voted unanimously to give a token of their appreciation to the fire district for the heroic efforts of its firefighters.
