Victoria Chick in One-Woman Show at Santa Ysabel Art Gallery

An exhibit titled "Seekers: a Metaphorical Search for Meaning," featuring the work of adjunct Palomar College art instructor Victoria Chick, will be on view from Jan. 10 through Feb. 15 at the Santa Ysabel Art Gallery.

This one-woman show will feature Chick’s acrylic paintings, large and small, and her monotypes. Works in the exhibit all have the image of the cat as a central theme.

An artist’s reception will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 10. The public is invited.

Chick has taught art to many backcountry-area residents through her classes, which are held in Ramona through Palomar College. She lives and has her studio in Ramona, which is also home to several horses (who also show up in her paintings from time to time), as well as four cats who have traded being feral for square meals and modeling opportunities.

Santa Ysabel Art Gallery is at 30352 Highway 78 at Highway 79 in Santa Ysabel, seven miles below Julian. For more information about the gallery and this exhibit, call (760) 765-1676.
