Ramona Rodeo Parade Set for May 15

Floats, equestrians, musicians — even antique cars and tractors — are invited to be a part of this year’s Ramona Rodeo Parade, to be held Saturday, May 15, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The parade, sponsored by the Ramona Chamber of Commerce, will be divided into two segments this year: the traditional non-motorized segment and a new segment featuring antique and classic cars and tractors.

There is no entry fee, but a suggested donation of $15 per entry is asked of all participants. Funds will be used to defray costs of putting on the parade.

Individuals and groups interested in participating in the parade are asked to contact the chamber office for an application. The office is at 960 Main Street. For details, call (760) 789-1311.

This year’s parade committee is headed by Bill Jenkin and includes Jennifer Anderson, co-chairwoman; Ellie Whitcomb, announcers and judges; Jeanne Pyeatt, youth and royalty; and Sharon and Jeff Uran, permits and volunteers.

Advertising and sponsorships are available and are tax-deductible donations. Call the chamber office to find out about opportunities to sponsor a parade division or to be an advertiser.

Volunteers are needed for the day of the event. Call Jenkin at (760) 788-1181, e-mail to jenkinw@sbcglobal.net or call the chamber office. Help is needed in the staging area and wherever barricades will be placed.
