San Diego Senior Sports Festival, the association representing the San Diego Senior Olympics, in conjunction with the San Diego Cyclo-Vets, hosted the Second Annual Scripps Poway Parkway Hill Climb on April 4, 2004. This yearly event benefits the Senior Olympics and the San Diego Cyclo-Vets. Participants climbed 810 feet over a 5-mile course along Scripps Poway Parkway and other local Poway roads. Medals were awarded in different age, gender, tandem, and hand cycle categories.

The San Diego Cyclo-Vets is incorporated to preserve, develop, and administer the sport of amateur bicycle racing at the masters-age, under the permit of the United States Cycling Federation.
