Carrying On The Tradition
Veteran Teachers Pass Baton to Returning Grads
by Jim Evans

It is, perhaps, the greatest compliment to veteran teachers when some of their own students go on to become teachers and later return to succeed them at the time of their retirement.

What used to be commonplace among schools across the United States is still a tradition in Ramona, where the sense of family and community continue to inspire our young people to return to their roots and follow in the footsteps of their mentors.

Teachers and staff retiring from Ramona High School this year after many years of valuable service are, from left: Ron Baniaga, Rose Legg, Jim Johnston and Bob Nabours.

RHS grads returning to teach at their alma mater are, from left: Mickey Nielson, Michael Jordan II, Debbie Whal, Rose Darrough, Steve Koch and Robert Grace.

A fond farewell — and thank you — to our retiring teachers, and welcome home to our former graduates. May the tradition continue.
