Bow-Wow Pow-Wow Coming to Ramona

Looking over the final plans for the June 12 Kiwanis Bow-Wow Pow-Wow are left to right: Jan Ward, President Darrell Beck, Mary Halliday, Betty Carpenter, Beverly Ragsdale, and event chairman, Carol Bazinet. All local area dogs are invited to enter the twelve exciting contests whichwill run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Park on Aqua Lane.
Mark your calendars and prepare your dogs, for the first annual Ramona Kiwanis Bow-Wow

Pow-Wow which will be held on Saturday, June 12 2005 at Ramona Community Park, 5th street and Aqua Lane.Chairman Carol Bazinet says that Registration for the twelve doggie contests will start at 10 a.m. with the show starting at 11 a.m. A fun filled day is planned with many door and raffle prizes as well as first, second, and third place awards for the canines. All entered will receive a participation ribbon.The categories are: Best Trick, Most Beautiful Female, Most Handsome Male, Best Tail Wagger, Best Kisser, Most Unusual Marking, Best Costume (adult owner), Best Costume (child owner), Dog and Owner Look-Alike, Best Singer and Best in Show!The Kiwanis food booth will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, and soda. The now famous Kiwani-kats Harmonica Band will also entertain the guests.Adult admission will be $2, children 12 and under $1. Contest entry fees are $5 per event. All proceeds will benefit the local Kiwanis Club’s many child and senior community service projects as well as Ramona’s emergency Animal Rescue Organization.
