Elvis Sighting in Ramona
MainStage Theater Hosts Imitations of Rock Legends

Jon Jacobs as Austin Powers
By Jim Evans

The “King” is coming to Ramona on Saturday, July 23, at the Mainstage Theatre to sing some of his all-time favorite hits in the first of a series of “Golden Oldies” performances in the coming months by rock stars, country-western stars, Latin stars, stars of the 90s, and more. According to Mike Herman, director and producer of “Imitators of Rock Legends,” an ensemble of more than 100 look-alike performers — mostly from the San Diego area — Ramona is in for a real treat.

“Legends” has been performing to sold-out crowds for more than a decade across the U.S. “We have had sold-out performances at 4th&B in San Diego and twice at the Poway Performing Arts Center in recent years among local venues,” says Herman who regularly performs as one of the “Blues Brothers” and whose wife Martina assists with the elaborate costuming for the performances. “We portray such superstars as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Roy Orbison, Britney Spears, and many, many more.”

George Thomas as Elvis
Emcee “Austin Powers” will introduce “Elvis” who will be joined on stage by the Queen of Soul “Aretha Franklin” and the fabulous “Temptations” at the July 23 debut. Tickets for the “King” are available on a first-come/first-serve basis, so fans are encouraged to call the MainStage Box Office now at (760) 789-7008 and check with the Event Line at (760) 789-3422 for future performances. Ticket prices are $25 regular admission and $20 for seniors, military and kids. Don’t miss this fabulous opportunity to see the “King” in person.
