New Harry Potter Book Coming to Wynola
Fans of Harry Potter books will be keeping late hours on July 15. The latest book — “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” — cannot be sold until one minute after midnight (which actually is July 16). Bookseller Melony Vance will have her store, Books in Nooks, open late to host a Harry Potter Release Party. Books will be available for sale but it is not a requirement to buy a book in order to attend the party, Vance said. “Guests are encouraged to come in costume,” she said. “I’m so excited. We’re going to have a party out on the deck. The weather should be great. We’ll have goodies and gifts. People can come and pick up their books and get a jump start on their Harry Potter.” There will be opportunity drawings for a variety of free books and goodies. Everyone who attends will receive a “lightening bolt” temporary tattoo. The first 30 people to reserve a book will receive a special gift. There also will be games related to the Harry Potter stories and snacks will be provided. The series by J.K. Rowling includes “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is the sixth in the series. It sells for $29.99 for the hard cover copy. The other books in the series also are available at Books in Nooks. The store is located at 4336 State Route 78/79 in Wynola. For more information, call Vance at (760) 765-2852.
