Pistols and Petticoats
There’s a new store in town, a Western-themed oasis that’s “a step back in time,” says owner Debbie Mushet. Pistols and Petticoats opened June 1 in Julian, in the space formerly occupied by Bad Betty’s, upstairs in the Cole Building, 2116 Main St. “There are a great variety of things, from antique gun replicas to sexy lingerie,” Mushet said. “The Western lodge theme is prevalent throughout the store and there is something for everyone.” Shoppers are welcome to load up during ‘Pistols and Petticoats’ big sale during the Fourth of July weekend, with 25 percent to 75 percent off select merchandise. Mushet, who has lived and worked in Julian since 1980, has been in the retail industry for the past 23 years. “I enjoy working in retail and especially like working with the public,” she said. Also a Realtor® with Mountain Farms Realty, Mushet said she would like to be able to devote much more of her time to Pistols and Petticoats. The family has run a construction business in Julian for 25 years, but this is Mushet’s first store. She and her husband Kenny also share three children: Broc, Britni and Brooke. For more information, call the store at (760) 765-1744.
