San Vicente Inn Names New Food and Beverage Director

San Vicente Inn and Golf Course would like to announce the hire of a new Food and Beverage Director, Paul Cruz. He grew up in a restaurant that his mother owned and he said, “As a child I was always there. It was like a second home.” Later he went to work for his stepmother who ran a famous fine seafood restaurant in the Chicago area where he worked his way up starting as a bus boy. After that his aunt and uncle bought a small pub where he spent a lot of time with yet another family business. He then went into the Air force where he met and married his wife, Corrie in Holland. Paul eventually ended up working for 31 years as an electrical design engineer for an Illinois power company, all the while dreaming of owning his own bar and grill. When he retired three years ago, he and his wife of 36 years moved here to be close to their daughter and two granddaughters, and they both fell in love with San Diego Country Estates. He has spent many hours as a volunteer for the estates and even earned volunteer of the month. Paul believes strongly in customer service and intends to make that his focus.“I will run this restaurant as if it were my own.” In his free time he enjoys gardening, sports of any kind and riding his refurbished 1974 Harley Davidson Electroglide.
