Ramona RV Acquisition Inspired by Son

It is always difficult to move forward in life when a loved one dies. We are often left with such a feeling of sadness and emptiness that everything remains in limbo — sometimes for months and even years.

But in the case of Shane Lee Price of Ramona, who died unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2004, at the untimely age of 25, his demise has actually inspired his family to new challenges.

“Most of our strength to move forward with our business and to take on this new business venture is in large part because of Shane,” said his parents Kevin and Nora Price, owners of All About Fun RV Rental. “He is missed every day and would have loved to be a part of this project.”

The Prices’ “project” is the acquisition, effective Aug. 1, of Ramona RV by All About Fun RV Rental, making the new company — All About Fun RV Rental and Service — one of the largest RV centers in the county, according to Kevin Price.

The new name reflects the company’s new capacity for “full-service, one-stop shopping,” Price said, adding that the business will be able to handle horse-trailer axles, RV fiberglass damage, maintenance, generator work and more.

“Ramona RV was strictly service-oriented, and we have always been on the rental and sales side, so now there should be very little reason for local residents to take their RVs down the hill,” Price said. “Our hourly pricing will be competitive with anyone down the hill, so why leave?”

Maintenance services will continue to operate from Ramona RV’s present site at 5th & Main, “but in the future, we may move our office operations to that location,” Price said. All of Ramona RV’s current employees have been retained as part of the acquisition.

“We will be a professionally run RV repair shop and service center,” Price added, “and we will be very customer service-oriented.”
