“East-West Bridge & Travel Extravaganza” Saturday January 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. The great Ottoman Empire included most of today’s Middle East and parts of North Africa and was a strong and wealthy empire consisting of many diverse cultures living and working together within a religious Muslim Culture. This changed 100 years ago when the Turkish Republic founder Kemal Ataturk lead a revolution bringing the country into the twentieth century and aligning Turkey with western ideals. It is important to look at the past to understand its role in today’s Middle East. Today, Turkey is one of the world’s hottest destinations for experiencing history, religion, adventures and food.
