The Ramona Community Planning Group elected its officers for the new year at its Jan. 5 meeting. Chairman Bill Jenkin is joined by vice chair Helene Radzik, and longtime board member Kristi Mansolf was re-elected as secretary for her sixth term.

Other planning group members are Angus Tobiason, Patrick Uriell, Chris Anderson, Bob Hailey, Vivian Osborn, Lewis Kraus, Carolyn Dorroh, Andrew Simmons, Katherine Finley, Luana Stines, Amanda Troiano, one seat is currently vacant.

“Unlike some planning groups, we are fortunate to have a group that works so well together,” said Jenkin, who succeeds outgoing chairman Pat Uriell. “We do not always agree with each other but, then, since when do 15 people agree on everything anyway.”

Mansolf is quick to concur. “The board consistently comes together on most issues, and on those issues where we don’t all agree, the different perspectives help us to see all sides of an issue before we vote. The system works.”

And the important issues for the RCPG this year? “The Town Center Plan, for sure,” said Jenkin. “Road issues are always an issue,” Mansolf added.

“And we certainly can’t forget the General Plan 20/20,” said Radzik. “We are communicating closely with neighboring communities to see what areas we have in common so that we can work together for the best solution.”

The Ramona Community Planning Group meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Ramona Community Center. Meetings are open to the public, and local residents are encouraged to attend to provide the group with important community input.
