Ramona High Student Wins DAR Good Citizens Award

The Rincon del Diablo Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, awarded its Good Citizens Medal to Erin Hearn, a senior at Ramona High School, at its annual Student Awards Tea Saturday at the Mathes Center in Escondido. This award is given annually to an outstanding high school senior from each of the area high schools. The faculty of each high school chooses the seniors who have demonstrated, in an outstanding way, the qualities of a good citizen. These students then write an essay on a topic chosen by the DAR. The winning students are then chosen on the basis of dependability, service, leadership, patriotism and the quality of the essay written. Each school's DAR Good Citizen receives a DAR Good Citizen Medal, a certificate and wallet recognition card, and a U.S. Savings Bond.
