The "Home Show" will be at the Julian Town Hall from May 20 to June 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Julian Chamber of Commerce's monthly mixer will be at Menghini Winery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on June 1. There will be a no-host bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. The "Art & Antiques Country Fair" will take place , from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 3 and 4 at Wynola Junction Antiques & Collectibles. There will be nostalgic farm equipment on display, and art, crafts, and other collectibles for sale.

Banner Queen Art Gallery will hold its sixth annual Spring Fine Art Show from June 3 to July 2. On opening night, June 3, there will be a reception from 1 to 6 p.m. at the gallery. Call (760) 765-2168 for more information.

American Legion's monthly breakfast starts at 7 a.m. on June 4. All proceeds will benefit the family of Eric Shearer. .

Julian High School will hold its 2006 graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. June 9. Congratulations to all of this year's graduates.

The Juneteenth Festival and Celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 10, at the Julian Town Hall. "Juneteenth" is a historical event that commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States and is one of the oldest African American celebrations in the country. The event is sponsored by the Julian Black Historical Society and admission is free to the public. There will be historical re-enactments, tours, food, jazz music and more. The Dawn Kirk Crafters' Arts & Crafts Show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 10 at Julian Town Hall.

There will be a native plant sale and lecture at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 11. Yvette Anderson, landscape designer from California's Own Native Landscape and Design, will be speaking about the different varieties of native plants to Southern California and how to integrate them into your landscape designs. Anderson also will explain how native plants can make your home fire safe. Along with Anderson's lecture, Las Pilitas Nursery will bring a variety of native plants that will be for sale. The idea is to learn about the different native plants, discover which ones will work for you, and be able to purchase them on the spot. Books in Nooks also will be selling literature about the native plants and their many uses. This event is sponsored by the Firesafe Council, the Endangered Species League, and the Volcan Mountain Foundation.

Julian Merchants Association's monthly open house will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m, June 19 at the Stonewall Stores on Main Street. Call (760) 765-4758 for more information.

The Town Hall Crafters will hold a craft show in the Julian Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 24 through July 4.

The "Egg Money Quilts" lecture and lunch will take place on June 29 and 30 at 10 a.m. Join renowned quilter Eleanor Burns for a lecture featuring quilts and techniques from the 1930s. The cost is

$15 and includes lunch. Reservations are suggested as space is limited. The lecture will be held at the Julian Historical Society, followed by lunch in Pioneer Park next to the museum. Contact Mary Ellen Thilken at (760) 765-1578 for more information.

Julian Fourth of July Parade kicks off with pre-parade activities 10 a.m. and the parade starting at noon on Main Street. Parade entry applications are available at the Julian Town Hall, Sprague Realty, Julian News and Julian Yesteryears. For more information contact the Julian Chamber of Commerce at (760) 765-1857.

James Lightner, author of "San Diego Native Plants", will be signing books at 4 p.m. July 15 and giving a presentation on "Plants General Kearny saw at Warner Hot Springs."
