Beat the Heat with Cool Bands and Live Entertainment at the Ramona Country Fair
By Tiffany Watkins

Live bands like "Tumblin' Dice," pictured above, will be appearing daily at the fair.
"There will be an incredible sound system," said Gin Boughner, the fair's entertainment coordinator. Kenny O'Gee Productions is handling the sounds and lighting for the entertainment in the stage area for the second year.

Boughner said that more bands wanted to play at this year's fair and she had to turn them away because she already filled the entertainment schedule.

"Entertainment is top-notch," Boughner said. The Tumblin' Dice is a band out of Escondido that played an opening song for Willie Nelson and also played at the San Diego County Fair. Jeff Sadie, lead guitar and vocals for the Tumblin' Dice said band members are looking forward to playing at the fair because they have a lot of friends in Ramona.

Another top-notch band that will be playing is Misty and the Mobys. Kelly Kelleher, aka Misty and lead vocals, said the group had such a great time playing at the Ramona Fair last year that members are thrilled to come back for 2006. She said the band plays rock hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s with some funk disco thrown in.

"The hosts are hysterical," Boughner said. Garney Johnson and Andrew Crown will be hosting the live entertainment in between acts from the Watermelon Eating Contest to the Kids Karaoke.

The Kids Karaoke does not require professional training; kids are welcome to get on stage and entertain the crowd. Boughner said that even adults can get up and give it a try with the youngsters.
