Woman's Club to Host Miner's Blowout Fundraiser
By Bobbi Zane

The Julian Woman's Club will host the second annual Miner's Blowout on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Webb Mine (normally the residence of Priscilla and Keith Webb), at 3663 Highway 78.

Festivities at this fundraiser, which will support scholarships and other community projects, will begin with a silent auction from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner, music by Whiskey Ridge and other entertainment. Miss Julian Kathryn Olsen and Miss Teen Julian Kasie Engleman are scheduled to attend.

Costumes are encouraged, according to Diana Garrett, who is chairing the event for the club, "Come in denim or miner's attire. We'll award prizes for the best dressed miner and best dressed lady."

Tickets priced at $25 per person include the silent auction, miner's grog, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and fun. They can be purchased at Julian Tea and Cottage Arts. 2124 Third St. or by sending a check for the total amount to the Julian Woman's Club, P.O. Box 393. The reservation deadline is Sept. 20.

For additional information contact Garrett at 760-765-3647.
