Fitness for Seniors
At 9 a.m. on Fridays in August, the Julian Library and the Julian YMCA will present "Chair Fitness for Seniors," a free exercise program. The program's goals are to improve joint mobility, increase range of motion, stretch muscles, and improve balance and breathing. The class will take place in the Library Community Room. Home Show
The Home Show will be at the Julian Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 29 through Aug. 13.
Chamber Mixer
Julian Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at Mountain Beadworks, Highway 79, one mile south of Julian. There will be a no-host bar and refreshments. Bring a door prize to promote your business. Contact the chamber at 760-765-1857, for more information.
Ramona Country Fair
The 36th Annual Ramona Country Fair is set for Aug. 3-6. Thursday and Friday the fairgrounds open at 5 p.m., and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Sponsored by the Ramona Chamber of Commerce, the fair and carnival entrance will be located at Aqua Lane and Fifth Street in Ramona. There will be crafts, carnival rides, watermelon and jalapeo eating contests, vendors, live entertainment, food and animals. Admission is free. Go to www.ramonafair.com for more information.
Tribute to Hank
The "Hank Show: A Tribute to Hank Williams, Sr." is set for Aug. 5 at the Pine Hills Lodge. There will be a barbecue buffet starting at 5:30 p.m.

Wolf Center

JMA Breakfast Mixer
Julian Merchants Association will hold its monthly breakfast Aug. 16, at Butterfield Bed & Breakfast, 2284 Sunset Drive, in Whispering Pines. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the speaker, Sally Snipes. Join the merchants for networking opportunities and good company. The Dawn Kirk Crafters "Weed and Craft Show" will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 through Sept. 4 at the Julian Town Hall.
BBQ Fundraiser
Montezuma Valley Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual barbecue fundraiser from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Firehouse, 37370 Montezuma Valley Road, Ranchita. There will be a barbecue beef dinner, live music, a dunk tank and jumper for kids, horseshoes, raffle and more. Tickets for the BBQ are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Julian Arts Guild "Fall Fine Arts Show" will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1-4 at the Julian Town Hall.
Annual Grape Stomp
The Annual Grape Stomp will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 2, at Menghini Winery. There will be live music, dancing, bocce competitions, grape stomping, wine tasting, a variety of food and crafts for sale and a jump house for kids. Admission is $10 for adults (includes a commemorative wine glass), $5 for ages 6 to 12, and children 5 and under are admitted free. Miner's Blowout
Mark your calendar for the "Julian Woman's Club Miner's Blowout," from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30. This mining theme, fundraising event, will feature a silent auction, appetizers and steak dinner, games, prizes, live music and more. There will also be a "Best Dressed Miner" costume contest. All proceeds go to the Julian Woman's Club Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $25, and must be purchased in advance.
