Dodge Valley Oasis: A New Oasis in Warner Springs

Three band, games and good food will be the highlights of the grand opening celebration of the new Dodge Valley Oasis in Warner Springs on Saturday, Sept 23.

Located on Highway 79, the Oasis gives area residents a new restaurant and saloon at one location.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, specializing in fresh seafood, hand-tossed pizza, pasta and steak.

Owner Richard Ogden said: "I was very fortunate to find Chef Scott Sebring who is a creator of fine recipes. Scott hand-tosses beer battered pizza dough with creations from simple to exotic toppings."

On the saloon side, thirsty patrons will have their choice from 16 draft beers and local wines by Shadow Mountain Vineyards and Pamo Valley Vineyards & Winery. For entertainment, there are pool tables, a jukebox, an indoor fireplace and a stage for live music.

Outside, patrons can kick their feet up and enjoy the relaxed and casual outdoor seating area. A desert ambiance includes grass canopies, wood tables, an outdoor barbecue pit, a horseshoe pit and a stage that's home to bands every Saturday and Sunday night.

Ogden, a former carpenter, has had ambitions of owning a restaurant and bar for many years. He had his work cut out for him when he bought the building, which had been closed for 10 years. However, he's transformed the venue into the high country's newest dining and entertainment establishment.

Event coordinator Gail Payne said the grand opening will have live entertainment all day with dart, pool and horseshoe tournaments.

"We're going to be (grilling) outdoors, and raffling off lots of prizes and giveaways," said Payne. "If you're into things like shooting pool, throwing darts, pitching horse shoes or just sitting around having a cold drink and listening to great music, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed," she said.

The Dodge Valley Oasis is biker friendly and welcomes car clubs. It is located at 36657 Highway 79, between Sunshine Summit and Oak Grove. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; it's closed Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information, call 760-765-1911.
