Ramona Pharmacy Introduces Therapeutic Foot Therapy

Residents looking for an answer to their aching feet can now turn to the Ramona Pharmacy for an answer.

Pharmacy technician Darci Hannum is ready to help folks with their feet problems. Recently, Hannum became certified in foot therapy, which makes her qualified to choose the proper shoes for people with certain foot problems.

"I can heat-mold certain insoles in the store, and for certain diagnoses, I am able to make molds of feet to send off for custom shoes. I can also bill Medicare for shoes and inserts for diabetics who meet the established criteria."

In conjunction with Hannum's new certification, Ramona Pharmacy has introduced the new Acor Sole Defense Silver-lined footwear designed for people with foot problems.

Each shoe is lined with an innovative fiber that has a natural layer of silver permanently bonded to it. Because silver is an effective anti-microbial and thermally conductive element, the layer delivers anti-microbial, anti-odor and thermodynamic properties.

"Taking care of your feet is extremely important - especially for diabetics," Hannum explained.

"Certain problems such as neuropathy (numbness and de-sensitivity) can result in severe ulcers."

Foot problems can also lead to other problems," she adds. "For example, walking with a limp can often cause pain in the ankle, knee, hip, and back."

Let's face it - when your feet hurt, everything hurts. But now Ramona residents have a place to go for help. For "happy feet" call Ramona Pharmacy at 760-789-0180, or stop by at 675 Main St.
