Ramona Municipal Water District Offers Classes

The Ramona Municipal Water District is offering water conservation landscape workshops.

The three- and one-half hour classes will focus on creating and maintaining water-efficient landscapes.

A landscape professional will conduct each class and cover the basics of irrigation systems, watering and fertilizing, landscape design and plant selection. The concept of utilizing California friendly plants in residential landscapes is a highlight.

Classes begin Sept. 30. A series of four classes runs from Oct. 7-21.

The September mini-class provides an overview of the four-class workshop series. Designed as an introduction to water-wise landscape practices, the mini-class touches on the topics covered in-depth during the workshop series.

Some hands-on exercises and demonstration displays help involve the participants (maximum 30) further by giving them a better understanding of irrigation hardware and the plant-water-soil relationship.

All workshops will be held at the Ramona Community Center, 434 Aqua Lane. To register for one of the 30 spots, please contact Patty Bevers at 760-789-1330.
