Lizards-n-Ladybugs New Boutique Store for Babies Opens in Wynola

Courtney Allison is a new mom, but she's definitely not the stay-at-home type.

Inspired by her daughter Kylie, 6 months, Courtney and her mother, Roberta McIntosh of Ramona, have opened the new "Lizards 'n Ladybugs Boutique" in Wynola adjacent to the Julian Tasting Room (Orfila Vineyards) and Art Center.

The name - Lizards (aka "boys") 'n Ladybugs (aka "girls") gives just a hint of the treasures inside. The new store offers "a little something for everyone" but specializes in Hollywood fashions and boutique clothes - mostly handmade - for babies and toddlers up to 2 years old.

The store carries brand names like, Tickles & Giggles, Bunnies by the Bay, Bumble Bags, Baby Bella Bling, Earth Momma Angel Baby, Crib Rock Couture, Little Twig, Lilian Grace and others.

The selection is something "you won't find at your typical department store," Allison said.

Other items in the store include one-of-a-kind finds from chandeliers for the baby's nursery to handmade artisan items.

"We even carry the famed 'Papa Pillow' for dad to rest his newborn on his chest," she added.

Maternity novelties, books, furniture, accessories and other gift items are also in stock, and the store provides opportunities for consignment and retail for local artisans.

In the midst of this eclectic collection of everything-your-baby-could-ever-want is a studio for Fairy Tale Creations Photography (www.FairyTaleCreationsPhotography.com) specializing in child photography and unique portraits of the whole family.

Lizards 'n Ladybugs opened Sept. 1, but will be celebrating its official grand opening from Sept. 29 through Oct. 31 with special discounts up to 40 percent off selected items.
