Camino Fire Update

Sheriff's Department had to evacuate Camino Ortega and Camino Moro in Warner Springs Sunday, October 29, as the Camino Fire broke out a little after 12 p.m. Twenty five structures were threatened as the fire quickly moved toward Los Coyotes Indian Reservation.

The 152 acre fire was started by spontaneous combustion in a compost pile and caused roof damage to one home.

It was reported by Anabele Cornejo, Assistant Public Affairs Officer - Cleveland National Forest, that two fire fighters of the 378 that responded were injured.

As of press time, full containment was expected by October 31 and controlled by Nov. 3.
