Julian Disabled Residents' Support Group

Julian residents using wheelchairs/walkers/canes and those with other physical disabilities are invited to meet at the Julian Library from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Fridays. This is an opportunity to share with others, and enjoy social support. Topics will include problem solving, upcoming projects and resource sharing. Library Pre-School Programs

"Bi-lingual Story Hour and Craft" has changed to Wednesdays at 11 a.m., and the "Coloring Table" will continue to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays at the Julian Library.

Featured Artist: James Hubbell

The Santa Ysabel Art Gallery will feature "The Work of James Hubbell" Nov. 1-19. The gallery is located at Highway 78 and Highway 79 in Santa Ysabel. For more information, call 760-765-1676.

Craft Show

The Dawn Kirk Crafters "Arts & Crafts Show" will be at the Julian Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1- 26.

Chamber Mixer

Julian Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the Julian Lodge, located on the corner of Fourth and C streets. There will be a no-host bar and refreshments. Bring a door prize to promote your business. Contact the chamber at 760-765-1857, for more information.

Julian Union High School

10K Run & 5K Run/Walk

The 15th Annual Julian 10K, 5K Run/Walk, and Kids 1K will take place Nov. 4 at Julian High School. The event starts off at 8 a.m., and both events take a tour of downtown Julian. The 10K will take runners to the Menghini Winery and back to the high school. Awards will be given to the top male and female runners that finish first and second in their age divisions, and all kids participating in the 1K will receive a medal. There will be live music, raffles, refreshments and food. All proceeds benefit the Julian High School Eagle Booster Club. Entry forms are available at www.kathyloperevents.com, participants can sign up online or send a check to Julian 10K/5K, 7801 Mission Center Court, Suite 204, San Diego, CA 92108. Pre-registration fee is $23, if postmarked after Oct. 28, registration will be $25, and on the event day, it will be $28. Miniature Art Show

Banner Queen Trading Post Gallery will hold its annual "Miniature Fine Art Show" Nov. 4 through Dec. 3. The artwork featured will be no larger than 9-inches by 14-inches. There will be an artist's reception from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5. The gallery is open from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and is located at 36766 Highway 78. Craft Show

The Town Hall Crafters "Craft Show" will be at the Julian Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19.

Julian Tea Open House

Julian Tea & Cottage Arts will host an "Open House" from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5 and is located at 2124 Third St. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 760-765-0832.

Tour de Julian

The Tour de Julian, sponsored by the R&B Bicycle Club, will take place Nov. 11 and 12, at the Menghini Winery. On Saturday, Nov. 11, there will be two rides. There will be a 28-mile course that will start at the winery and go to Lake Cuyamaca via Engineers Road before heading back to the winery. The second is a 55-mile course that includes the 28-mile ride, plus a trip up Sunrise Highway to the top of Mount Laguna. On Sunday, Nov. 12, the R&B Bicycle Club will also offer mountain bike routes through the newly opened Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve. These routes range from 11 to 19 miles. Both rides will include well-stocked rest stops, event T-shirts, and after the rides, Julian pie and ice cream. Registration and check-in begins at 7 a.m. The Saturday rides depart at 8:30 a.m. and the Sunday ride departs at 9 a.m. Registration for the Tour de Julian is available online at www.julianactive.com or call 760-765-2200, for more information.

Wine, Cheese and Much More

The Julian Historical Society and the Julian Pioneer Museum will host their annual "Wine, Cheese and Much More" party at 5 p.m. Nov. 12. The event will take place in the Blum Lodge at Camp Stevens, 1108 Highway 78 in Julian. The cost is $25 per person, and all proceeds benefit the restoration of the 1924 Cadillac Stage and the expansion of the Julian Pioneer Museum. JMA Breakfast Mixer

Julian Merchants Association will hold its monthly breakfast Nov.15 at the Cuyamaca Restaurant & Market. Join the merchants for great networking opportunities. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. and will be followed by a guest speaker. The cost is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Contact Tracy Turner at 760-765-4758, for more information.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Christmas Craft Show

The annual "Julian Country Christmas and Tree Lighting" ceremony is 5:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and will take place at the park next to the Julian Pioneer Museum.

Featured Artist: Joe Garcia

Joe Garcia will be featured at the Santa Ysabel Art Gallery Nov. 25 through Jan. 7. The exhibit "Mixing It Up" will feature wildlife watercolors, plein air oil paintings and large studio oil pieces of wildlife and landscapes. There will be an artist's reception from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 25. The gallery is located at 30352 Highway 78 at Highway 79 in Santa Ysabel, and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. JREA Open House

"Community Christmas with Santa" will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Julian Town Hall. Take your picture with Santa, and don't forget to tell him what you want for Christmas.

"A Christmas Carol"
