Monte Carlo Night to be Elegant Affair
By Ruth Lepper

Ramona Rotary Club and the Intermountain Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department Auxiliary are teaming up for "An Evening in Monte Carlo," a fundraiser on Feb. 9 that will take place at Mount Woodson Castle in Ramona.

"This will be a really elegant affair," said Bob Vaughn, co-chairman of the black-tie optional event.

Entertainment will include a fashion show presented by Macy's department store, with models from the community. There also will be luxury vehicles on display outside the castle. Cards and gaming tables will be set up for mock gambling.

Tray passed hors d'oeuvres will be served, along with a no-host bar and dessert table. There will be opportunity drawings, a live auction and a reverse raffle during the evening. Proceeds from the event's festivities will be shared by the Rotary Club and the volunteer fire department.

Intermountain Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department provides service to a 125-square-mile area between Ramona, Julian and Lake Henshaw. Volunteers receive training at an academy sponsored by the department. Currently, there are about 50 volunteers serving with Intermountain Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department.

Ramona Rotary Club is a nonprofit humanitarian service organization with memberships consisting of local business professionals. The club carries out a variety of service projects that address critical issues in the community, including services for youth and senior citizens, as well as numerous other community and international projects.

Tickets are $75 for the event that takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. Sponsorships are available from $250 to $5,000. To find out more about sponsorships, to donate prizes for the auction or to reserve tickets, contact Sharon Greene, who is co-chairing the event

with Vaughn, at 760-788-6960.
