Sue Dawe to Show Her Creative Techniques The Ramona Art Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Sue Dawe will be the featured artist. She will demonstrate how she creates her fantasy color art. Dawe is known for her imaginative illustrations and colorful depiction of unicorns and other imaginative renderings of animals. After Dawe's first class in airbrushing techniques at Palomar College, she earned the "Best of Show" award at the Science Fiction Convention in Los Angeles. Since then, she has studied at the Art Center, College of Design in Pasadena. She now teaches composition and painting at Miramar College. Her work was first inspired by the beautiful art noveau illustrations in books she saw as a child. Later, she was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and by Michael Parks. She creates calendars, cards and posters. Many examples of her work can be seen on the Internet.The Art Guild meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday in the Ramona Library Community Room, 1406 Montecito Road.
