Warner Community Resource Center Doing What it Does Best

The Warner Community Resource Center recently chose health services as its priority during a roundtable meeting with representatives from the California State Rural Health Association.

In addition, the group also hopes to build a community center in which many activities could occur such as, theater, music, art, drama, crafts, counseling, health services, adult education classes and more.

The WCRC serves the 432-square-mile school district boundaries through classes, health services and more. For example, there were vision screenings for children in preschool through 12th grade in January. In December, the group provided 33 families with Christmas baskets filled with donations from community, school volunteers and students from the FFA program.

Current classes offered through the WCRC include:

Inspiring Wellness for those who want to discuss in a safe and private environment the experiences with autoimmune diseases; Parenting classes, with child care available.

Registration for both classes is ongoing.

After having to close its doors for two months last year, the center reopened in October following a successful dinner dance silent auction held at the Warner Springs Ranch.
