By Ruth Lepper

Four homes in Ramona will be open to the public on April 21 when the San Vicente Valley Club hosts its 26th annual home and garden tour. The event, which includes an arts and crafts faire, bake sale, luncheon, fashion show and wine tasting, is the club's major fundraiser for its scholarship fund and charitable contributions to community organizations.

The homes will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets for the self-guided tour are $10, available in advance at San Vicente Inn, Ramona Chamber of Commerce and from members of San Vicente Valley Club. For more information about tickets and to make reservations, contact Kaaren Thiem at 760-788-4840.

San Vicente Inn will be the location for the other events. The arts and crafts faire will feature a variety of decorative items including antiques and collectibles. The Bake Shoppe will have numerous home-made baked goods donated by club members. Local vineyards will provide an assortment of wines.

The fashion show and no-host luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m., also at the inn, located at 24157 San Vicente Road.

In addition, there will be an opportunity drawing for 14 gift baskets, each valued at $500 or more. Some of the donations have been golf packages, time-share stays, jewelry, bicycle and gear, an oil painting and more. Tickets for the drawings are $1 each, six for $5, 13 for $10 and 30 for $20. Tickets will be on sale the day of the event.

For more information about the home and garden tour and the other events, Vicki Trimble, chair, can be reached at 760-440-0047.
