Julian Doves & Desperados
The Julian Doves & Desperados will be performing historic comedy skits at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. (weather permitting) Sundays at the stage area between Cabbages & Kings and the Julian Market & Deli. For more information, call 760-765-1857.
Summer Nights
Every Friday in Wynola and Saturday in Julian (after the 4th of July Parade) "Summer Nights" will be held. Shops will stay open a few hours later and musicians will be performing. Take some time to stop by and enjoy the cool summer evenings.
Plein Air Exhibit at Santa Ysabel
Santa Ysabel Art Gallery will present its 12th annual plein air landscape exhibition, Plein Air XII, through July 29. Featuring 15 local plein air artists, this exhibit of landscape paintings is always anticipated among artists and collectors alike. The term plein air refers to a painting painted from life. The Santa Ysabel Art Gallery is located at 30352 Highway 78 in Santa Ysabel. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday and by appointment. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Chamber Mixer
The Julian Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly mixer on July 12. Hosted by Villa De Valor, the mixer will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be a no host bar, hors d'oeuvres and a raffle. Bring a door prize and promote your business. Yoga at the Library
July 6, 13, 20 and 27 wake up with Good Morning Yoga with Karen Mills at 9 a.m. in the Community Room of the Julian Library. Free.
eBay Workshop
July 7 at 10 a.m. learn how to buy and sell on eBay. This free informative seminar is sponsored by the United States Postal Service and will take place at the Julian Library.
Guided Hike
There will be a guided hike up Volcan Mountain July 7. Meet at the Volcan Mountain trailhead at 5 p.m. For more information, call 760-765-4098.
Ventriloquist
"Who Said That?" At 3 p.m. July 12, meet Ventriloquist Lynne Trimble and her wooden friends at the Julian Library.
Storytime at the Library
July 11, 18 and 25 meet at 11 a.m. at the Julian Library for stories, songs and finger plays with Merrily Cox, a Julian favorite for storytime.
Guided Hike
A guided hike through the Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve will take place July 15. Meet at the Farmer Road staging area at 4 p.m. For more information, call 760-765-4098.
Merchant Open House
Mountain Beadworks will be hosting this month's Julian Merchants Association Open House from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 16. Take time to meet the owners and enjoy some light refreshments. Mountain Beadworks is located on Highway 79, one mile south of Julian. For more information, call 760-765-4758.
Dance, Dance Revolution for Teens
July 17 at 6 p.m. the Julian Library will host a dance competition for teens to have fun while competing with friends for prizes. Refreshments will be served.
Fingerprints Exposed
July 18 at 2:30 p.m. learn all about fingerprints and careers in forensics. This hands-on presentation is sponsored by Grossmont College and will take place at the Julian Library.
Annual Merchants Dinner
The Julian Merchants Association's annual dinner will take place at 6 p.m. July 18 at Menghini Winery. Board of Directors election results will be announced as well as winner of the "Merchant of the Year" award. All are invited. The cost is $8 for members and $10 for others. Library Craft
Make your own "I Spy" book at 2:30 p.m. July 19 at the Julian Library. Julian's own artist Anne Marie Reilly will show how to arrange found objects, photograph them and make your own book complete with clues.
Log Home Open House
