Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. meet with friends for the Preschool Storytime & Craft.

Yoga

Good Morning Yoga with Karen Mills at 9 a.m. every Friday. De-stress and start the weekend off feeling balanced and alive.

Latino Family Literacy Project-ESL

From 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays professional educator and instructor Yvonne Edman will assist Latino families with English language development. Using the VISTA Method of learning, this free course uses step-by-step literacy instruction that involves family reading and vocabulary development. All materials, books and curricula used are in a simple format, bilingual and free. This is a 10-week course that will begin Sept. 4.

Gardening with the Experts

The Arts & Letters Program presents "Gardening with the Experts" at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 with Sally Snipes and Carol Jacklin, formally trained gardeners. The duo will teach how to ready your fall gardens for spring blooms. They will also demonstrate how to divide perennials, plant bulbs and will take orders for daffodil bulbs, encouraging all to participate in Julian's Community Daffodil planting.

Davka...The Survival of a People

This multimedia exhibit of the histories of 10 surviving families of the Holocaust will be at the Julian Library Sept. 7-19. This exhibit is not a retelling of the Holocaust, but a focus on what happened to the survivors and their families once they survived.

Remembering the Holocaust Lecture, World Music Concert and Davka Reception at 1 p.m. on Sept. 16, the Julian Library will present Erwin Levy, a Holocaust survivor, who will speak about the buildup to the Holocaust and his experiences. Alexander Gourevitch, a clarinetist classically trained in Russia, will treat you to rousing dances and soul-stirring Hasidic music. Refreshments will be served.

Meet Animals

of the Rainforest

The Wildlife Company presents "Animals from the Rainforest" at 3 p.m. Sept. 20. Learn about the importance of the world's rainforests and the creatures that live there. There will be five creatures from the rainforest making a special appearance.

Beading Workshop

At 6 p.m. on Sept. 25, Dale and Patty Strong of Mountain Beadworks will present a free beading class. Be sure to stop by Mountain Beadworks and pick up some supplies.

Sit and Fit for Seniors

At 11 a.m. on Sept. 26, Matt Cramer of Alpine Physical Therapy will instruct you in gentle exercises, increasing strength and flexibility while using a chair for stability.

Researching the Internet

Learn how to find reliable Internet sources at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 with Colleen, Julian's reference librarian.
