Ramona's Oktoberfest October 12-14

Music, food, wine and of course, beer will be on tap for Ramona's third annual Oktoberfest on October 12-14.

Oktoberfest means "celebration of the harvest" and this year there will be plenty to celebrate. The event will feature traditional Bavarian accordion musicians all three days.

There will be a beer garden, stocked by Stone Brewery of Escondido and a wine garden showcasing local Ramona wines.

Traditional Bavarian food, such as brats and pretzels, will also be available.

"This year's event will be more family oriented," says Mac McWilliams, executive director of Ramona's Chamber of Commerce. "Christiansen Amusements will be set up with 'Kinderfest' rides for the younger guests, as well as a pumpkin patch, face painting and more."

More than 70 commercial and craft vendors will be on hand, and traditional contests such as horseshoes will be held for the adults.

The event will be held at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highland Valley Road. There is ample parking. Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
