Town Hall Meeting

"We lucked out," Julian Cuyamaca Fire Chief Kevin Dubler told a group at a Town Hall meeting on October 30. Discussing Julian's mandatory evacuation during the Witch fire, Dubler said, "things were not looking good on Tuesday" when residents were told to leave town. At that time a fierce wind was blowing from the east, but the change from east to west was slow and the winds were not strong, leaving the firefighters enough time to get their lines in and take advantage of air support. About 50 or so attended the meeting that was called to update residents on the fire.
