Julian Doves & Desperados

Pre-School Story Time
Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. is pre-school storytime and craft at the Julian Library.
Sit and Fit for Seniors
Dec. 5, 12 and 19 at 11 a.m. Matt Kraemer of Alpine Physical Therapy Center will instruct seniors in gentle exercises, increasing strength and flexibility while using a chair for stability at the Julian Library.
Latino Family Literacy Project-ESL
Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. professional educator and instructor Yvonne Edman will assist Latino families with English language development. Using the VISTA Method of learning, this free course uses step-by-step literacy instruction that involves family reading and vocabulary development. All materials, books and curricula used are in a simple format, bilingual and free. The class will be located in the Community Room of the Julian Library. For more information, call 760-765-0370.

Good Morning Yoga with Karen Mills is every Friday at 9 a.m. at the Julian Library. De-stress and start the weekend off feeling balanced and alive!
TOPS Club

Every Saturday until Christmas, the Wandering Julian Carolers will be filling your ears with holiday spirit from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Julian's Main Street.
Living Nativity
Every Saturday until Christmas experience a Living Nativity at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Julian Cider Mill located on the corner of Main and B Streets.
"A Christmas Carol"

Miniature Art Show
Banner Queen Trading Post Gallery will hold its annual "Miniature Fine Art Show" through Dec. 9. Featured artwork will be no larger than 9"x14." The Gallery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and is located at 36766 Highway 78. For more information, call 760-765-2168.

The Town Hall Crafters will hold its Holiday Craft Show Dec. 1-2 and Dec. 8-9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Julian Town Hall.
December Skies
Friends of the Julian Library's Arts & Letters Program presents "December Skies" Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Julian Library. Scott Baker and Michael Leigh will share with you their broad knowledge of the heavens. After an entertaining and informative presentation, you will be invited to move outside and view the stars through Scott and Michael's powerful telescopes.
Teen Advisory Group
Dec. 5 at 2:30 p.m. teens are invited to attend this new group at the Julian Library. Members will help the library select books, movies, music, graphic novels and programming for the teen section of the library. Snacks will be provided.
Thursday Afterschool Program
Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. will be the Thursday Afterschool Program at the Julian Library. See the Librarian for more information.
Henna Tattoos for Teens
For Teens only! Dec. 6 at 3 p.m., artist Natasha Poupovsek will be drawing henna tattoos at the Julian Library. There are over 100 designs of these non-permanent tattoos to choose from! Sign-up ahead of time at the Library Circulation Desk.
Chamber Mixer
Julian Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Orfila Winery Tasting Room located at 4470 Hwy. 78 in Wynola.
There will be a no-host bar and refreshments. There will also be a special raffle for

Santa is Coming!
"Community Christmas with Santa" will take place Dec. 7 at the Julian Town Hall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Take your picture with Santa, and don't forget to tell him what you want for Christmas! This event is sponsored by the Julian Triangle Club.
Holiday Home Tour
Friday, Dec. 14 you are invited to tour some of Julian's most beautiful homes decorated for the holidays. Sponsored by the Julian Woman's Club, the "Annual Holiday Home Tour" raises money for the club's Scholarship Fund for Julian High School Seniors. Transportation will be provided, and the tour will begin at the Community United Methodist Church located on Hwy. 78/79 across from Pine Hills Road. Tour times are 8:30 a.m. (leaving at 9 a.m.) and 12:30 p.m. (leaving at 1 p.m.). There will be light refreshments and the opportunity to purchase handmade crafts and baked goods provided by members of the Julian Woman's Club. The cost of the tour is $20 per person, and tickets are available at Julian Tea and Cottage Arts located at 2124 Third Street in Julian or call 760-765-0832.
Victorian Christmas Teas
Julian Tea & Cottage Arts will be hosting the 13th Annual Victorian Christmas Teas Dec. 8 through Dec. 23. Seating times are at 11:30 p.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $20.95 per person, and includes finger sandwiches, savories, scones, breads and assorted desserts. Reservations are required. Guitar Hero Challenge
Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. the Guitar Hero challenge continues at the Julian Library. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Handel's Messiah at Town Hall
Dec. 16 the Julian Community Choir will present "Handel's Messiah" at 7 p.m. at the Julian Town Hall. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Beading Class
Dec. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dale and Patty Strong of Mountain Beadworks will teach a free beading class at the Julian Library. Seating is limited so please sign-up ahead of time at the Library Circ Desk.
Merchants Breakfast
Julian Merchants Association will hold its monthly breakfast Dec. 19 at the Pine Hills Lodge located at 2960 La Posada Way. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the guest speaker. New Year's Eve Party
New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, the Pine Hills lodge is hosting a party, including dinner, dancing and live music! Appetizers will be served in the Pub from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and dinner will be served from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $89.95, and includes a bottle of sparkling wine and party favors.
