65th Anniversary

The family of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Schultz are pleased to announce the celebration of their parents' 65th wedding anniversary. Walter & Lillie met on a blind date in 1942. They eloped six months later, where they were married on Dec. 6 in Monongahela, PA.

Walter served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. In 1947, he and Lillie moved their young family from McKeesport, PA to San Diego, where he worked for Ellen Browning Scripps, and later became a career truck driver. Lillie was a homemaker and, together with Walter, raised their son and four daughters.

In 1990, Walt and Lil moved from San Diego to Ramona, where they've lived ever since. They now boast eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, scattered all across the U.S. All of them have traveled to Ramona for Thanksgiving week to celebrate with their parents 65 years of wedded bliss at a party hosted by their granddaughter, Teresa Hobbs and her husband Marc, also of Ramona.
