Julian Doves and Desperados
The Julian Doves and Desperados will perform historic comedy skits at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. (weather permitting) Sundays at the stage area between Cabbages and Kings and the Julian Market and Deli. For more information, call 760-765-1857.
Preschool Story Time
Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. is preschool story time, followed by a craft, at the Julian Library.
Sit and Fit for Seniors
Wednesdays at 11 a.m., Matt Cramer of Alpine Physical Therapy will teach gentle exercises, increasing strength and flexibility while using a chair for stability at the Julian Library.
Yoga
Good Morning Yoga with Karen Mills is every Friday at 9 a.m. at the Julian Library. De-stress and start the weekend off feeling balanced and alive!
Black History Month Festival
On Feb. 2, Julian will celebrate Black History Month from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Town Hall. Sponsored by the Julian Black Historical Society, the event will feature live music, historical tours through the Julian townsite, a pancake breakfast and southern lunch. There will be two tours leaving at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. For more information, call 760-765-1120 or 619-685-7215.
Annual Chamber Installation Dinner
Julian Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Board of Directors Installation Dinner Friday, Feb. 8. This year's "Redneck" themed event will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner being served at 7 p.m. Catered by Pie in the Sky Catering of Angel's Landing, the menu includes a fried chicken dinner with all the sides, and chocolate pecan pie for dessert. After dinner, the 2008 Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be officially installed by special guest, Supervisor Dianne Jacob. The cost is $45 per couple and reservations must be made by Feb. 4. For more information, contact the Chamber at 760-765-1857.
Home Show
The Home Show will be at the Julian Town Hall every day from Feb. 8 to 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Craft Show
The Town Hall Crafters will be hosting its craft show daily from Feb. 9 to 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Julian Town Hall.
Third Thursday Afterschool Program
On Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. is the Third Thursday Afterschool Program at the Julian Library.
Daffodil Show
March 7-9 is Julian's Annual Daffodil Show hosted by the Blue Heron Gift Shop. The show will run Fri. and Sat. from noon to 4 p.m. and Sun. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Blue Heron is located at 2116 Third Street.
Easter Brunch
The Pine Hills Lodge will host its annual Easter Brunch on March 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are required. For more information, call 760-765-1100.
