Celia Lawley Trio Performs "Gold Hill" in Borrego

The Celia Lawley Trio brings its original musical production of "Gold Hill," the Julian gold rush musical, to the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center, 590 Palm Canyon Dr., Borrego Springs, at 7:30 p.m. on March 29.

The Trio consists of Lawley on fiddle, Mark Windrum on upright bass and Tony Butler on guitar. Lawley will play five other instruments during the performance.

"Gold Hill" is comprised of 12 of Lawley's original songs about Julian's gold rush. She sought to capture Julian's 1880s sense of romance in an era where life moved more slowly and deeply.
