Ginger Ranck of Cabbages and Kings and Linda Myers of Pie Town Gear Outdoor Adventure Equipment have blended their two stores at the Cabbages and Kings location, 2216 Main St., Julian. The change was finalized on May 1.

An Open House and Grand Opening will take place Friday, May 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., with food and wine. A surprise is promised!

With their combined concern to "go green" with as many products as possible, the two stores will highly compliment each other.

Most products are made by indigenous artisans and craftspeople creating eco-friendly decorative accessories, shoes, furniture and clothing.

Products are made from water hyacinth, banana and pineapple leaves, saltwater reeds, sea grass, cedar root, bamboo, coconut shells and uzu fiber, and are hand-harvested and processed using no chemicals, dyes or synthetic processes. The famous Keen shoe line is featured, including a large line of Keen recycled bags and backpacks, recycled rice paper backpacks and bags, hemp backpacks, soy clothing, bamboo clothing, gold panning supplies and a large line of hiking equipment.

For information about the stores and their products, call 760-765-1874.
