Cornerstone Riding Center Plans Interactive Fundraiser
Food, fun, kids corral and country music are highlights.
Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center is holding an Equine Microchipping Clinic and Chili Cook-Off fundraiser on May 17. But that's only the beginning.
"This is going to be a great family fun event! You don't have to have a horse to join the fun," said Judy Beckett, executive director of Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center. "There will be a kids corral with bounce jumps, a classic car exhibit and a live country band."
The fire department plans to have a fire helicopter and fire engine on display at the event.
The microchip clinic will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and the chili cook-off takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional food will be offered by Smokin' Joe Jones Barbecue, and a beer garden will be set up.
Entry fee is $5 for adults, and free for children 12 and under. Active duty military and their families are invited to attend at no charge.
The fundraiser will help Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center's recovery and rebuilding efforts after the Witch Creek fire shut down the center for four months. Part of the proceeds will also go to the San Diego County Burn Institute.
"We promise a day of fun and excitement for the whole family," added Beckett.
Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center is located at 25201 Creek Hollow Drive in Ramona.
