 | | Ramona Senior Center received the gift of a train set from Ramona's Santa Claus, Russ "Pappy" Sielaff, before his move to Colorado. The train set took up most of Sielaff's back yard. "Never in our wildest dreams did we ever imagine that Pappy would donate his prized and precious train set to us," said Tom Parham on behalf of the Senior Center. "Pappy's wish is that it will be used for all to enjoy at the Ramona Senior Center for years to come."

Every dollar the men raise equals one vote, with 50 percent of the funds going to the charity of the men's choice and 50 percent to Soroptimist International service projects.  | | Miss Ramona 2007 Kelly Haynes, along with the Rainbow Riders from Ramona, read western-themed books to students during the Mt. Woodson Elementary Reading Rodeo Round Up. Organized by the Mt. Woodson PTA, the annual after-school event promotes literacy for children of all ages.

 | | A memorial service for veteran Bill Mayhorn took place at VFW Post 3783, where he was remembered and honored by family and friends. Quartermaster John Hine presented an American flag to Mayhorn's step-grandson, Gary Brannon, in recognition of Mayhorn's honorable service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
